Devon Primary SCITT
DPSCITT is a teacher training course based in Devon.
They had a pre-existing website that was outdated and was not responsive among other things.
Their goal was to have a newer, responsive, interactive website that provided them with further connection with future teacher trainees.
Another requirement was to have a landing page that had two options that led to two different websites: 1:DPSCITT 2:DTSP.
The look and the feel are based around their logo, blue, pink and white are the website’s colours.
A separate objective was to provide an approachable aspect to the site, this meant big pictures of happy smiling children and adults. There is also an abundance of opportunities for contact, although subtle and not overpowering (or annoying).
The Websites content pages have a long scroll with anchor links to take you to your selected location. This was chosen in order to provide shorter loading times for mobile and tablet users as the target audience were most likely to be using these.
The Institute of Seamanship
The Institute of Seamanship is a community interest company that carries out research in all things seamanship.
The website’s purpose was to inform, educate and gather more members for the institute.
The main theme of the website is the sea. Big and stylish photographs were used in order to capture the different feelings and moods that the sea can provide.
The fonts were important to this, I used “Crimson Text” and “Lato”. Crimson text provided a handwritten captains logbook style that married well with the theme of the website.
